Education

In 2008, Alexander Pshennikov graduated from Ryazan State Medical University named after I.P. Pavlov with a degree in medical medicine. He was an assistant professor, professor of the Department of Cardiovascular, X-ray Endovascular Surgery and Radiation Diagnostics of MiedaGMU.

Career

2022: Appointment as head of the Ryazan Ministry of Health

On September 1, 2022, Alexander Pshennikov became the new head of the Ministry of Health of the Ryazan Region. According to him, the position was offered to him in the Ryazan government.

Until September 2022, he worked as dean of the medical faculty of the Ryazan State Medical University, was a professor at the Department of Cardiovascular, X-ray Endovascular Surgery and Radiation Diagnostics, and also worked as a doctor at the Department of Vascular Surgery of the Ryazan Regional Clinical Hospital.

He perfectly knows the strengths and weaknesses of regional medicine - from the availability of high technologies to the support of young specialists, - wrote the Acting Governor of the Ryazan Region Pavel Malkov about the new minister and added that Pshennikov is actively involved in the preparation of a strategy for the development of health care in the region.

Pshennikov was replaced as head of the department by Vladimir Khominets, who headed the ministry since July 2022 instead of Andrei Prilutsky. The latter, by September 2022, is a witness in a criminal case of corruption in public procurement by the Ministry of Health of the region, local media reported. Prilutsky himself previously said that he resigned of his own free will. Local publications wrote that the reason for the resignation is the state of health of the official.[1]
