2022: Robot Announcement
In early September 2022, the first manicure robot appeared in the United States. To use its services, you need to pay eight dollars, choose the color of the varnish and after a few minutes the manicure is ready.
The developers of the robot from Clockwork claim that their manicure is the most favorable for the COVID-19 pandemic, since it does not require any contacts - the whole procedure is performed by the machine. The manicure robot is the first of its kind to use AI and 3D technology to calculate the size and shape of a user's nails, the robot will also paint them in less than 10 minutes. The robot takes photos of each user's finger before the procedure. However, the device cannot cut or shape nails - its goal is only a quick contactless manicure.
Performing a manicure is a cosmetic procedure for treating the nails on the fingers and fingers themselves, or even the entire hand. Manicure is performed both in beauty salons or beauty rooms by qualified specialists and at home.
The functionality of the robot is still limited only to painting nails with varnish, the device does not yet know how to carry out other manipulations. However, the developer's website hints that this is temporary and the robot may soon have new features. It is reported that robots for manicure are subjected to mandatory disinfection after each user and for this, a technological break of 10 minutes is established between sessions, and all employees of the company have been vaccinated against coronavirus.
Clockwork struck a deal in August 2022 with Target (TGT) to install its robots in six U.S. stores, including stores in Texas, California and Minnesota. The company said it sees its goal in creating machines to save a person from routine work. The developers suggest that in the future such devices will be installed in retail stores, offices and even residential complexes.[1]
