On September 14, 2022, the company IBS announced the completion of a large-scale cycle projects for the design, implementation and replication of automated control system industrial occupational safety and health for PJSC MMC. " Norilsk Nickel As a result of the program, the company managed to achieve its strategic goals: to reduce the risk of incidents through proactive response and preventive measures, reduce the cost of preventive and corrective measures, and increase the level of safety culture.

To address the strategic challenges of identifying negative events in the early stages, Nornickel initiated a program to transform the HSE function, during which it was necessary to develop a comprehensive automated system based on risk assessment and management. IBS was chosen as the partner for its implementation.

The project team, consisting of IBS experts, specialists from the Norilsk Nickel Department of Industrial Safety and Labor Protection, as well as the Norilsk Nickel SSC, had to implement the transformation of the HSE function in three stages: at the first - to design a target model of business processes, at the second - to develop and implement an information system supporting changes at the company's key assets, at the third - to replicate it to other assets and ROKS.

As part of the first stage, the team conducted a survey of the current state of HSE processes at Norilsk Nickel, recorded local features of the company's enterprises and requirements of stakeholders. Based on these data, as well as international standards and reference models, growth drivers were formed and a target model of business processes was developed.

The formation of the target model made it possible to build processes in a single logic, fix areas of responsibility, unify directories and reporting for all Norilsk Nickel enterprises, as well as record a single approach to collecting reporting information, connect industrial safety and labor protection measures with production and general corporate tasks, - said Dmitry Karasov, director of the Metallurgy segment of IBS.

At the second stage, IBS specialists, together with the project team of SSC Norilsk Nickel, developed and implemented the automated Control system. Management. Security "(AS" KUB ") on key assets of the company. SAP EHSM (Environmental, Health and Safety Management) was chosen as the technological platform for automation, based on a proactive risk management model. NP "KUB" is used to form work permits, manage accident investigations, identify hazards and assess risks, procedures for control and preventive work and production control, and comply with the instructions of the supervisory authorities.

In total, the project team implemented KUB NPP at 37 main enterprises of the company and in the main office. During the project, we implemented integration HSE process management systems with HR and production asset management systems.
