2022: Purchase of Russian business Goodvalley

In mid-September 2022, it became known about the sale of Russian business to Goodvalley. It belonged to the Rasskazovsky Pig Breeding Complex (RASK) in the Tambov Region. The new owner of this enterprise was the local LLC "Agro-Vilion," according to the data of the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (USRUL). The main activity of Agro-Vilion LLC is the cultivation of peas, soybeans, corn, sunflowers, barley and wheat.

The general director of the organization, Maxim Kopnin, confirmed to Kommersant the purchase of Goodvalley assets, but refused to comment on its conditions.

Danish meat producer Goodvalley sold Russian business

The source of the publication said that the Danish pork producer sold the business in Russia due to a special operation in Ukraine. It is also noted that the company has previously considered the option of leaving the Russian market due to seriously increased competition in the industry. Earlier, the Cherkizovo group was interested in buying RASK.

Sovekon director Andrei Sizov notes that the buyer of RASK is a fairly well-known agricultural trader with experience in the Central Black Earth Region, therefore, if necessary, he can provide grain supplies for meat production. On the other hand, the expert continues, there are no special prospects in the Russian pork market by September 2022: supply is growing, consumption is stable, and exports are not significantly increasing. The Russian market accounted for 9% of Goodvalley's revenue.

In the first half of 2022, pork production in Russia increased by 5.7%. In the same period, on the contrary, beef production fell, reducing by 2.3%, to 626.8 thousand tons. In this regard, the Ministry of Agriculture wanted to develop measures to support meat producers and stimulate the beef market, in particular, by paying farmers for raising gobies for slaughter.[1]
