A robot librarian can advise visitors, search for the necessary information, issue certificates. Also, the robot can host events as a host or can simply chat on various topics.
The robot can perform at events as a host or simply communicate with a living person on a wide variety of topics. The robot is controlled using a laptop through a chat window. If you type a phrase, he will say it. If you score ready-made templates, he will independently pronounce them in any order, the National Library of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) reported. They also noted that the robot, along with the delivery to the Anabar ulus, cost 799 thousand rubles.
According to the regional minister of culture Yuri Kupriyanov, the appearance of such digital technologies in the northernmost library will definitely arouse interest from children and youth and attract new visitors to the institution.
The head of Yakutia, Aysen Nikolaev, noted that thanks to the national project "Culture," libraries in the districts and cities of the republic are becoming modern public spaces with digital technologies.
As part of the national project in Yakutia, new generation model libraries were opened on the basis of the Uboyansk city branch of the Nyurbin Central Library and the Elgyay Rural Library of the Suntarsky District. In total, 14 model libraries under the Kultura national project and 15 regional libraries have been created in Yakutia.[1]
