SAP SEM-BIC

The module SEM-BIC - one of functional units of SAP-SEM. IT helps with search of external information which is related to business, in its assessment and storage in the structured form.

Unlike data which arise in a business system as a result of daily business operations and then data with which SEM-BIC — qualitative information works are transferred to SAP SEM in the aggregated type. It should be interpreted and estimated so that it could be used for decision support. Such information can represent market estimates, press releases, annual reports, forecasts of stock exchanges, data on solutions in the field of economy and taxation, achievements in the field of fundamental sciences, etc.

SEM-BIC facilitates search of such publications, especially in Web. The found data can be estimated, supplied with comments, to save together with their source and other parts.

Using the SEM-BIC component the following functions are performed:

• integration of an information system into the Web browser and navigation on Web content;
• management of data sources for information analysis;
• transfer of contents of the selected documents for editing and preserving in a system;
• linking of documents with the indicators which are stored in SAP BW.
