2022: Launch of telecom infrastructure
On October 2, 2022, it became known that MegaFon it had launched telecom an infrastructure in the ice G-Drive Arena"." The company quickly installed equipment inside the multifunctional sports center, thanks to which fans will be able to share their impressions using voice LTE Vo and mobile digital communications. Internet 4G
The ice palace is a key Omsk region sports facility, so MegaFon engineers have installed special network equipment here, which is 4 times the capacity of a conventional urban base station. To ensure a uniform level of radio coverage, more than 200 indoor antennas were placed in the arena premises: not only in the stands, but also in training, auxiliary and technical spaces. The infrastructure created will provide a high-quality signal to both athletes and employees of the sports complex, and all its guests even during mass events - hockey matches, concerts, various show programs. MegaFon's network capacity is sufficient to serve over 12,000 people at a time.
The new arena for the "hawks" was built using the latest technologies, so it is very important that the telecom infrastructure here meets the latest requirements. It is impossible to imagine a hockey match, the results of which the audience would not share in real time: in social networks and instant messengers, in posts and live broadcasts, - said Andrei Posazhennikov, Minister of Industry, Communications, Digital and Scientific and Technical Development of the Omsk Region. |
A feature of such a system is the coordinated functioning of many sectors of the base station in the open space of visual stands and under-stands. The technical solution implemented in the "G-Drive Arena" will allow in the future to connect equipment of other operators to the antenna-feeder infrastructure.
It is very important for us that MegaFon was chosen as the "anchor" operator of the G-Drive Arena. Our company has good competencies in equipping strategic facilities with telecom infrastructure, our engineers worked at major sports events: the Olympics, World Championships, Universiades. We used all this experience to launch the network in the new Omsk Ice Palace. MegaFon completed all the work as soon as possible so that guests can share their impressions at speeds up to 200 Mbps, "said Igor Bezzubkin, Director of MegaFon in the Omsk Region[1]. |
