2022: The Presidential Academy will discuss the scientific and technological development of Russia

On October 10, 2022, a meeting of the Council on the priority direction of scientific and technological development of the Russian Federation will be held within the walls of the Presidential Academy. The topic of the meeting will be "The possibility of an effective response of Russian society to great challenges, taking into account the interaction of man and nature, man and technology, including using the methods of the humanities and social sciences."

The Council includes representatives of the State Duma, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, institutions of the Russian Academy of Sciences, state corporations, as well as rectors of the country's leading universities.

The meeting will present a new methodology for considering and analyzing applications for the development of complex innovative projects. It will create a qualitatively different mechanism for expert assessment of the submitted materials due to the objectivity and transparency of the entire procedure. The new tool will allow the state to determine priority areas of financing, taking into account the need to respond to Western sanctions and introduce import prevention mechanisms in socially significant sectors of the economy.

Within the framework of the Council meeting, the methodology for analyzing the socio-economic state and prospects for technological development in the Russian Federation will also be considered. It is intended to determine promising directions for the development of the socio-economic sphere and further highlight the centers of a potential breakthrough in turbulent geopolitical conditions. Based on the analysis, it is planned to submit draft proposals to improve measures of effective state support for citizens, taking into account challenges in the field of interaction between man and nature, man and technology. The Presidential Academy will act as a permanent platform for the Council for three years.

Now in Russia, seven Soviets are successfully functioning in priority areas of scientific and technological development of the Russian Federation. The councils are organized as part of the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation on the Strategy for Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation. Their activities are aimed at solving the problems of identifying, selecting and forming complex scientific and technical programs and projects. In addition, among the key areas of their activities is the formation of proposals for the implementation of state policy in the field corresponding to the areas of their activities.

The result of the activities of the Soviets was the launch by the Government of Russia of complex innovative projects aimed at solving socially significant problems: from the production of dry milk mixtures for feeding newborns to reducing the environmental burden in regions with a developed coal industry. The total amount of project financing amounted to about 10 billion rubles.
