Finished Product Inventory Analysis and Distribution System

The AIR system is an information system that automates the management of finished product batches at a polyvinyl chloride plant.

About the project

Inventories may represent the company's most important asset. Inventory management brings together all elements of the supply chain. A shortage of finished goods at the right time in the right place can lead to dissatisfied customers.

Manual accounting was replaced by modern automation systems for both accounting for finished product stocks and production processes. This management approach allows you to timely regulate the volume of manufactured products, perform technologically complex tasks in a shorter time and reduce the degree of human participation in the process, or completely exclude it.

When developing a finished product inventory management automation system at a large manufacturing enterprise, it is necessary to take into account a number of factors affecting the process of product quality management and its distribution among consumers:

  • the company's high requirements for the product being produced;
  • a large number of qualitative parameters;
  • several levels of quality grades;
  • personalization of client specifications.

The production and supply cycle requires professional knowledge and daily involvement of employees from various departments.

LLC RusVinyl is an enterprise with a production complex for the production of PVC, built using the most modern European technologies.

To reduce the impact of the human factor on the quality of business processes in the company, the customer decided to automate them and involve Effective Technologies in the development of a new information system "Analysis and distribution of finished product stocks" (AIR Systems).

Tasks to be solved

The main goal of the project was to automate the production processes for managing batches of finished products at the polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plant.

The developed AIR system greatly simplifies the process of assigning quality to packaged products and distributing batches between customers through automation, namely:

  • generate reports on the quality of products in silos with the possibility to select the required sampling period;
  • Distribute the product based on the brand, packaging type, and customer specification requirements for each individual customer.
  • generate reports on the warehouse of finished products, based on the form of packaging, brand, quality indicators;
  • visualize the shipment plan in terms of the availability of products of the required quality and packaging form for each planned shipment.

Project results

  • 1. reduced risks of complaints, product returns
  • 2. reduced shelf life of finished products in the warehouse due to more efficient planning of production and packaging processes
  • 3. established the process of timely assessment of the existing runoff and its distribution
  • 4. reduced the share of manual labor of employees in the classification of the product by quality parameters
