2023: Obtaining THORP status
Service routers manufactured by NPP Istok named after Shokin (part of the Roselectronics holding of Rostec State Corporation) received the status of telecommunications equipment of Russian origin (TORP). The devices are designed to create an information infrastructure, operate under the control of the Baikal BE-T1000 processor, and their software is a completely domestic development. Roselectronics announced this on February 8, 2023.
Service routers are designed to aggregate and process information in small organizations or government agencies with up to 50 employees. The design of the devices allows you to change the functionality of routers for the needs of a particular customer. By replacing or adding network modules, the port capacity of the router can be increased, the set of network interfaces and technologies such as Wi-Fi, LoRa or TDM can be expanded.
The router can be equipped with PoE (Power over Ethernet) functionality, which provides simultaneous data transfer and power supply to the connected device. This makes it possible to deploy a video surveillance system and organize access to IP telephony within one device. Serial production of devices has been going on since 2022.
The devices have a large number of communication interfaces both wired and wireless, which allows you to create a high-quality trusted IT infrastructure. The assignment of THORP status will allow us to compete with both foreign and Russian manufacturers in the framework of purchases carried out by state customers and companies with state participation. The software and hardware platform of service routers are constantly updated in accordance with market requests, "said Andrei Tyurin, head of the scientific and technical center of NPP Istok named after Shokin. |
2022: Start of mass production
Holding "Roselectronics" State Corporation Rostec developed and began mass production of routers to create a secure information infrastructure. The equipment operates under the control of the Baikal BE-T1000 processor, and the software is a completely Russian development. Rostec announced this to TAdviser on October 17, 2022.
The modular structure of the solution allows you to customize each device for the needs of a specific client. The router is equipped with PoE ports (PoE - Power over Ethernet), through which data and power supply are transmitted simultaneously. This makes it possible to deploy a video surveillance system and organize access to video conference calls.
High-quality telecommunications equipment of domestic production should form the basis of the IT landscape of Russian companies, both large and small. This is especially important in the context of political and economic pressure on our country. The router, which is mass-produced by Roselectronics, will help business reduce dependence on imported solutions, as well as ensure information security, said Oleg Yevtushenko, Executive Director of Rostec State Corporation.

The design of the router allows you to connect a hard drive or expansion modules for additional network interfaces and data transfer functions. The device is designed for use in small organizations with up to 50 employees.
Routers are developed and manufactured by JSC NPP Istok named after Shokin, part of Roselectronics.
Routers are distinguished by a large number of communication interfaces, both wired and wireless, as well as sufficient performance and energy efficiency. We have begun mass production of devices, as of October 17, 2022, 2 thousand products have already been produced. By the end of 2022, it is planned to manufacture another 3 thousand routers, as well as expand the line of manufactured equipment and begin serial production of border routers, told the head of the scientific and technical center of NPP "Istok" named after Shokin Andrei Tyurin.
