A state project for remote monitoring of blood pressure has been launched in the Novgorod region. At first, 10 thousand people will take part in it.

According to the press service of the regional Ministry of Health, within the framework of the 2022 project, equipment for measuring blood pressure was purchased. From October 25 to 28, medical personnel of the central city clinical hospital, the hospital of war veterans and district hospitals, as well as patients will be trained.

According to the chief freelance specialist of the cardiologist of the Ministry of Health of the Novgorod Region, Rezeda Lomovtseva, it is uncontrolled hypertension that is the main cause of myocardial infarctions.

Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of mortality worldwide. Therefore, there is no need to talk about the relevance of such a project. Often, patients turn to medical institutions late, when there is already a vascular catastrophe on the doorstep. But monitoring your health, controlling blood pressure can help identify violations earlier and prevent serious diseases, "said Minister of Health Valery Yakovlev.

The target audience of the project is patients who have already survived vascular disasters, those who have chronic heart disease are at risk for these diseases. The implementation of the project will be based on the use of the SberHealth service from Sberbank.

As explained in the Ministry of Health of the Novgorod region, there will be three options for working with patients:

  • The first is that the patient periodically measures the pressure with a tonometer. At the same time, an application is installed on his smartphone, into which data will be automatically transmitted via bluetooth after each measurement. All of them are accumulated in the patient's personal account. The second is manual entry of the patient's pressure measurement results into the application.
  • The third is robotic calling of patients to receive and enter information into the program. This option is designed for those patients who cannot work in applications.[1]
