2022: Implementation of mobile application for gardeners and automation of business processes

On November 7, 2022, Lad announced that it had developed a mobile application for gardeners "Smart Garden" HoGa (HomeGarden), and also helped automate the key business processes of the Fasco + Group of Companies by switching to the 1C:ERP accounting system and its further integration with 1C: Document Flow, as well as with warehouse automation and logistics systems.

According to the company, the Fasco + group of companies, which includes the Darwin network of garden centers, came up with the idea of developing a mobile application for gardeners. His concept included the idea of client centrism, namely: to understand what the client wants, to quickly process this information and meet his needs.

In August 2021, Lad specialists began developing the HoGa (HomeGarden) mobile application. Initially, they were based on the hypothesis: to allow customers to shop online, not limited to visits to the garden center along the way to the dacha and back.

As it was developed, the HoGa application was filled with tools useful for gardeners - this is how it became the core of the digital ecosystem, which not only offers customers products in the format of an online store, but also provides "personal gardener," who will remind you to hide roses, warn about an impending thunderstorm or, tell you which variety of dahlias is planted on the flower bed.

The first release was released on October 15, 2021. By the summer season of 2022, the MVP of the application was completely working with the basic set of services and is available for download on the AppStore and GooglePlay with the following functionality:

  • Weather forecast at the site based on its geolocation data.
  • Built-in garden work calendar.
  • A service for determining plants and their diseases by photography using a neural network.
  • Consultations of the agronomist in a chat with a response within 24 hours and useful articles from specialists.
  • An interactive site map and a list of all objects, with the ability to create a separate card with a description and photo for each plant.
  • A catalog of goods and services for the garden, vegetable garden (complete information on planting and care is given in plant cards) and country life with the ability to make a purchase and delivery.

The application's backend system is integrated with the company's accounting system: 1CERP for exchange data using the following mechanism: from 1C to HoGa - the nomenclature of goods and services, prices; from the application to the accounting system: orders placed by users, payments, order statuses.

In parallel with the development of the HoGa front-line solution, the company launched a project to modernize the back office, which would make it possible to develop internal processes in accordance with business requirements. With the participation of Lad specialists transferred from 1S:UPP the 1C:ERP operational circuit, accounting circuit, regulated accounting, corporate budgeting and treasury, and also integrated 1C:ERP with the "" and "" systems. WMS CortesAntor

As part of the transition to 1C: Document Flow: transferred the business process to the updated system to agree on requests for spending funds, set up types of documents with various rights and exchange mechanisms between 1S:DO and ERP- system, wrote a routine task that notifies employees and their managers about unfulfilled tasks, and also deployed a mobile version of "1S:DO" with typical functionality.

Different platforms and technology stacks were used to digitalize the customer's business processes, as well as applied knowledge from various fields: from business automation based on 1C software products to machine learning technologies. As a result, they helped the customer to form a fully working ecosystem of digital tools that are organically integrated into the company's IT landscape and interact with each other, making the customer's business scalable.
