2022: Announcement of software for protecting biometrics based on neural networks

On November 21, 2022, it became known software about the creation of the Biometrics-Code, which is intended for the safe use of biometric data people. Development converts biometric information into special electronic keys. enciphering At the same time, both keys and personalized biometric data are immediately erased after use and are not stored anywhere, which means they cannot be stolen, the developers say.

"Biometrics-code" was created by the Penza Research Electrotechnical Institute (PNIEI). The new product can be used, for example, when creating digital licenses - passports, driver's licenses, insurance certificates. Also, the technology can be used to conduct electronic voting, in payment systems, in medical systems when storing medical histories, issuing prescriptions and sick leave.

In Russia, developed software for the protection of biometrics based on neural networks

The technology allows you to protect biometric and personal information by using neural networks. Instead of storing human identification data and encryption keys, the software involves the use of neural networks trained to reproduce cryptographic keys from the biometric data of their owner.

{{quote 'Most modern products are based on imported technology, which only copes with part of the tasks - highlighting personal biometric features. But she is not responsible for their safety. Our technology allows us to ensure reliable data protection and form an inextricable connection of personal data with the physiological features of the subject. Electronic documents can be stored on phones, flash drives, in the "cloud" in encrypted form. Only the owner will be able to decipher them, "said Andrey Motorko, General Director of the Avtomatika concern (which includes PNIEI). [1] }}
