On November 21, 2022, InStock Technologies announced the implementation of InStock WMS in Servico warehouses.

According to the company, with the growth of turnover and the expansion of the company's business, it was necessary to optimize the quality of logistics service in accordance with the requirements of customers. To solve these problems , the InStock WMS system was chosen.

The focus of the company's activities distribution of goods for chain stores determines the features of warehouse logistics of the distribution center. Different commodity groups are represented in the warehouse. Each group has its own characteristics and requires different logistics schemes. InStock WMS uses different methods for receiving, selecting, and preparing the article for shipment for different articles.

Product Group Item Processing

The goods of this group are often ordered in small quantities. This group requires sufficient shelf storage area. Separate box sampling area and unit shelf area.

The box area is the first tier of pallet racks. The system plans to select only entire boxes from this zone, and there are no open boxes there. The piece zone is represented by shelf storage, and it already has the possibility of sampling from the box. This approach allows you to follow the order in storage and optimizes the quality of shipment. Goods in the sampling zones are located according to the criterion of the exit rate - this minimizes personnel mileage during selection and reduces the sampling time.

The system takes into account such parameters of the article as the expiration date, batch, mandatory fair mark marking; offers a product for selection, only suitable for these characteristics for order requirements, and clearly controls the quality of order selection. 

Processing of Household Chemicals Items

The goods of this group are stored and collected separately from the products, in separate containers, on separate tasks. The InStock WMS controls NOT mixing household chemicals and products in the same container or in adjacent cells.

Processing of goods of the group Beer-Water-Juice

The goods of the Beer-Water-Juice group are stored both in racks and in floor cells in stacked storage. Such goods are ordered in large quantities.

For network customers, the goods of one consignee must be located on one pallet. But for other retail customers, the selection is carried out according to MINISVODY.

A mini-water is a wave (combination of orders) unloaded from an enterprise management system as a property of an order.

Several orders belonging to different customers and belonging to the same mini-water must be collected together for one pallet by a total selection, and shipped in a single pallet. This method optimizes the selection of non-network clients and reduces the error factor.

Handling of Group Items Alcohol

For the product of the Alcohol group, both serial numbers of units of production - brands and individual box numbers are taken into account.

When accepting Alcoholic Beverages, the storekeeper can scan either the stamp from one bottle or the box code. The system checks whether there is such a code in the expected receipt document. If the code is found, then the entire conduit is accepted with all the goods specified by the document in this conduit. This method - the method of trust acceptance by boxes - allows you to optimize the time of acceptance, and, at the same time, take into account all accepted brands of alcoholic beverages. 

In the Alcohol zone, selection can also be carried out both in whole boxes and piece. When selecting an entire box, the system indicates the shipping documentation of number of boxes for sampling, but requires scanning each individual box. Thus, the system will receive information about the shipped brands.

During piece selection, each individual product brand is scanned.

It was decided to start introducing the system first at one pilot warehouse in Angarsk, and then scale it to all other warehouses of the company. All commodity processing processes for different product groups were worked out at the pilot warehouse and integration with the ERP system was established. Then several warehouses in Irkutsk were launched from InStock WMS, the warehouse in Chita and three warehouses in Ulan-Ude were next launched, followed by the introduction of the system in warehouses in Krasnoyarsk and Bratsk. Each warehouse is different, but the settings of the pilot warehouse in Angarsk were taken as a basis. The launch of work with the InStock WMS system took place without stopping warehouses. Personnel training was conducted during the start-up process.
