2022: Service-Telecom bought Opora Telecom and Dacha in Touch

On December 27, 2022, it became known about the sale of two regional operators of antenna mast structures (AMS) - the companies Opora Telecom and Dacha on Communications - to the Service-Telecom group.

Kommersant was told about the concluded transactions in the companies themselves. At the same time, nothing is said about the financial components of the agreements.

"Service-Telecom" bought two regional operators of antenna-mast structures

The average price of one tower on the Russian market is about 4 million rubles, so the deal could amount to about 2 billion rubles, says TelecomDaily CEO Denis Kuskov. According to him, Service-Telecom has long been cooperating with all telecom operators, and an increase in the number of towers in the park will help increase the profitability of the business.

According to the newspaper, by the end of 2022, Opora Telecom and Dacha on Communications own more than 500 communication facilities in the Voronezh, Penza, Leningrad and Belgorod regions, as well as in St. Petersburg. After the takeover of these AMS operators, as noted by Service-Telecom CEO Nikolai Berdin, the company's total portfolio will be about 19.1 thousand communication facilities. He also said that in 2023 Service-Telecom will continue "its development, combining organic growth and M&A transactions."

Any major infrastructure operator is interested in developing and increasing the portfolio, said Evgeny Chermashentsev, general director of the New Towers Group of Companies. In 2022, there are a number of problems with the construction of telecommunications infrastructure, so it is logical that portfolio growth is ensured through M&A, he said.

As a market source clarified to the publication, the construction was limited by the shortage of foreign equipment and "difficulties in negotiations with Rosavtodor."

If we do not take into account the operators who did not sell the supports, then by the end of 2022 only a few players remained on the market, consolidating most of the infrastructure in Russia, and several small regional companies, the park of each of which does not exceed 100 objects, said Denis Kuskov.[1]
