Two years ago, we launched a pilot project for video surveillance of newborn cots in intensive care units and pathology units. Thanks to him, parents can monitor the condition of the baby around the clock directly from the smartphone. Earlier, such an opportunity appeared in the Morozov Children's City Clinical Hospital, maternity hospitals of the Infectious Diseases Clinical Hospital No. 2 and the City Clinical Hospital (GKB) No. 15 named after O.M. Filatov. Parents highly appreciated the service, it allows you to feel calmer. Therefore, we decided to extend this experience to other institutions. Now parents whose children are in the perinatal centers of the Kommunarka medical complex, the Bauman City Clinical Hospital and the Konchalovsky City Clinical Hospital can also monitor the condition of their child around the clock. Thus, as of November 2022, a total of six medical institutions in Moscow are taking part in the project, "she said.

The service works for parents whose children were born ahead of schedule or are underweight. Video cameras are installed right in the sledgehammers - the devices where the kids are in the first weeks of life.

To access the video, one of the parents needs to write a statement, indicating in it his last name, first name and patronymic, date of birth, passport details, phone number and email address, where the link to the video broadcast will come. Access to it can be provided by the head of the department or the attending physician after an assessment of the condition of the newborn. For parents to get permission, a newborn must weigh more than one kilogram.

Video streaming is available around the clock and online only. Videos are not stored or transmitted for further use, and only parents and a limited range of authorized technicians have access to them. Viewing is possible from a smartphone or other electronic device, noted in the metropolitan Department of Information Technology.

In the Moscow health care system, all conditions have been created for the provision of medical care to newborns. If the baby has a pathology that requires specialized medical care, the mother and child, if necessary, can be transferred from an ordinary maternity hospital to a children's multidisciplinary hospital. As of November 2022, the survival rate of premature babies in maternity hospitals in Moscow is over 98 percent, while 10 years ago this figure was twice as low now[1]
