2023: Digitalization of warehouse complex based on SAP Extended Warehouse Management

On January 11, 2023, NOVARDIS announced that the digitalization project of the warehouse complex based on SAP EWM was completed in the NMZHK group of companies. The solution was designed, implemented and put into operation in 6 months. The implementation partner was NOVARDIS.

At the Nizhny Novgorod Oil and Fat Plant there are auxiliary warehouses combined with production, and a finished product warehouse designed for storing and shipping goods to customers. Before the start of the digital project, the company used a warehouse system that did not cover the processes of auxiliary warehouses and did not allow you to quickly make the necessary changes. The company needed a solution covering the processes of all warehouses of the enterprise, in which critical business requirements of warehouse logistics will be implemented, including: traceability of finished products from production to the client, packaging of products taking into account its characteristics and customer requirements, optimal loading sequence. It was necessary to implement the solution without reducing the capacity of the warehouse, with a reduction in idle runs and at a qualitatively higher level of process automation.

As a result of the implementation of SAP EWM, all warehouse complex processes are automated and implemented in one system. With seamless integrationSAP ERP and EWM, reference information, documents, and movement data migrate between systems to form a single, transparent loop of business processes. Now each process has become as controlled and controlled as possible, and thanks to the high level of automation, the impact of the human factor on warehouse processes has been significantly reduced.

After the launch of the SAP EWM system into commercial operation, the volume of cargo processing "NMZHK" has already reached more than 1600 tons per day, and can be increased based on the needs of the enterprise. This system for warehouse process management, unlike the previously used system, allows the company to flexibly and promptly implement the necessary changes, as well as continue to scale the solution to other warehouses of NMZHK Group of Companies.
