In January 2023, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case after the death of 35-year-old Svetlana Burukhina in Nizhny Tagil. The mother of two children died in the Sverdlovsk Regional Clinical Hospital (OKB) of Yekaterinburg No. 1 after an unsuccessful operation.
According to Komsomolskaya Pravda, the woman's husband is sure that the responsibility for the death of his wife lies with the doctors of the Demidov hospital, where Svetlana turned after another aggravation of gastritis. According to Andrei Burukhin, his wife complained of abdominal pain every winter. But doctors have not previously ordered any operations.
On December 12, 2022, Svetlana Burukhina came to a medical institution to conduct a gastroscopic procedure to expand the bile duct. The operation itself took place on December 15, 2022, and immediately after it Svetlana began to complain of unbearable pain. She informed her husband by correspondence that the nurses did not respond to requests for help.
The light was taken for laparotomy only after the morning bypass on December 16 [2022-year]. Housemates say she sobbed in pain. But the condition continued to deteriorate. The death report concluded that the woman died of "bleeding as a complication associated with surgery. The family lawyer believes that the incident shows signs of a crime under the article "Causing death by negligence due to improper performance by a person of his professional duties."[1]
