2022: Migrating 2,000 mailboxes to LanCloud
BorisHof moved 2,000 Exchange mailboxes to the LanCloud cloud. LanCloud (LanCloud) announced this on January 19, 2023.
BorisHof, one of the Russian automobile the dealers of premium cars, was previously part of the international holding Inchcape, represented in 40. countries of the world
Due to the difficult geopolitical situation, the car dealer was faced with the disconnection of the Russian company from the Western IT services of Microsoft. The company had a month and a half to search for a partner who will be able to provide services similar in functionality and will be independent of foreign service providers, and will also be able to transfer all information in the amount of 30 Tb and more than 2 thousand MS Exchange Online mailboxes.
After conducting a study of the Russian supplier market, the Cloud cloud services cloudy Exchange mail service from LanCloud was chosen. Cloud Exchange met all the needs of the car dealer's business, namely: full support, Microsoft Outlook mailboxes up to 100 Gb, integration with corporate service, Active Directory reliable protection by domestic anti-virus services and anti solutions.spam
Due to the minimum time frame, the task was primarily to deploy an "empty" mail system in changed domains, switch users (but not their archives) to it, and configure forwarding from old boxes to created ones. One of the difficulties of the business is that the company has a huge number of different groups of mailings, both internal and external. Plus, users often have 2-3-4-5 mail addresses with different domains (car brand requirements). Migration of all this data has proved to be quite a difficult process, both technically and organizationally, especially given the limited time frame. But LanCloud engineers migrated all the necessary mail, moved the main mailboxes and archives, synchronized users, distribution groups, and also moved all additional mail addresses.
As a result, BorisHof received a working postal system, completely independent of the parent company and not tied to foreign cloud services with their risks. At the same time, one-time investments were minimal, did not have to spend money on the purchase of their hardware and licenses.
