The NP KSOMB system is designed for comprehensive monitoring of the state of safety systems, such as: automatic fire alarm, security alarm, alarm alarm, gas pollution control means. The security system transmits information from such facilities to the City Monitoring Center. In case of confirmation of the presence of threats to public safety and emergency of a technogenic nature, information is transmitted to the emergency services of the city. For example, the fire alarm system will work if smoke occurs at the school. Then, in real time, the evacuation control warning system will automatically turn on, magnetic door locks will be unlocked, an automatic water fire extinguishing system will be activated, and the fire message will be promptly received by the System-112 and the city's fire and rescue service. The system receives more than 1800 notifications per day.

As of January 2023, 6406 social infrastructure facilities of St. Petersburg were integrated into KSOMB AS. Alarm notifications are received from 6334 automatic fire alarm systems, 2173 security alarm systems, 4909 alarm systems, 1386 gas monitoring systems.
