2022: Implementation of the foreign passport verification system

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia is introducing a Russian-made software and hardware complex to verify the certification documents of foreign citizens. iTG announced this on January 25, 2023.

With the help of the complex (see Fig. 1), documents will be checked when identifying foreign citizens for the provision of public services. The development of Russian engineers and scientists provides quick scanning and recognition of data on passport and visa documents of foreign citizens, as well as automatic detection of signs of forgery of the passport form.

The production and initial launch of the software and hardware complex is carried out by the system integrator iTG (LLC "Ai-Ti-G Holding"). The company specializes in the development of complex information systems and the creation of an IT infrastructure for private and public customers.

To implement a project to verify the documents of foreign citizens in the interests of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, iTG specialists combined domestic developments in the field of information technology. The complex includes a special passport scanner with software for recognizing and authenticating Smart ID Engine documents.

The reader used in the complex for scanning passports was developed by engineers of the group of companies Intek"" (see Fig. 2).
