2023: Completion of testing of blockchain platform for donations

The teams of the ChainLab Blockchain Technology Laboratory of the Idea Scientific Center and the Co-Unity Deafblind Support Charity Foundation have completed testing of the Hyperledger Fabric (HLF) donation blockchain platform. The scientific center announced this on February 15, 2023. The platform will allow not only to quickly and conveniently collect money for those in need, but also to receive a detailed reliable report on the spending of funds in automatic mode, and the collection of donations can be tracked on the blockchain in real time.

Many Russian charitable foundations and organizations had to revise the methods and ways of raising funds under sanctions restrictions. Solutions are required that can replace departed technological tools and supplement existing ones. With the help of blockchain, you can completely change the principles of work of charitable online platforms and increase the trust of donors in charity.

The technology eliminates the opacity of operations, since they are not controlled by one structure, as in the case of traditional centralized systems, where data is stored within each company, and donors need a request, time to access it, and the preparation of the report is often carried out manually.

Blockchain is a donation platform - a solution for the charity sector. Foundations strive for an open dialogue with benefactors. Posting reports on the site and covering activities in social networks are basic, but not sufficient mechanisms for transparency. They are supplemented and rethought, in particular, using blockchain technology. The platform is focused, first of all, on a generation that does not think of itself without a digital environment, who "lives" on the Internet, knows how and willingly uses modern digital tools. "
said Yulia Shlyandina, fundraising director of the Co-Unity charitable foundation for the support of deaf-blind people.

The blockchain technology that runs the donation platform makes it possible to make fundraising more transparent and open to both the funds themselves and donors. It is important to understand that the platform is an alternative source of fundraising, not a replacement for existing tools. The platform is designed to engage people who do not trust existing classical fundraising tools in charity,
noted Olga Ilyina, head of the expert team of the Blockchain Technologies Laboratory "ChainLab" of the scientific center "Idea" comments.

The completion of testing the platform by the Co-Unity Foundation is the first step for the practical application of this blockchain solution. The next stage is a full-fledged launch of the platform.
