Hyperledger Fabric

Hyperledger Fabric is a program framework for application development and specialized business solutions on the basis of a blockchain.

The solution has the modular architecture allowing to use different components by the principle of a Plug and Play and applies technology of containers to accomplishment of the "smart" contracts implementing logic of applications of a system.

2017: Release

Project participants of Hyperledger in October, 2017 announced an exit of Fabric of version 1.0 — a program framework for creation on the basis of the distributed register of the business networks supporting "smart" contracts. On development of Hyperledger Fabric 1.0 about 16 months left. The contribution to creation of a product was made by 159 developers from 28 organizations.

Using a system it is possible to create the protected electronic registers without a possibility of change which will find application in the financial industry — for record of transactions on settlement and not only and also in health care — for maintaining electronic medical records and control of access rights to them.

According to the chief executive of Hyperledger Brian Behlendorf, Fabric keeps uniform record of all transactions that is relevant for the financial services industry. There was an opportunity to pass to the model of instant settlement based on the unified shared distributed register.

At the same time, the "smart" contracts Hyperledger Fabric can be applied also to control automation by electronic medical records: participants of a health care system will be able to receive the consent of the patient every time when they need to share a confidential information about it.

For the different industries different sales of mechanisms of smart contracts are created, but our project promises an opportunity to offer the uniform standard for all — Belendorf said.

The Hyperledger Fabric 1.0 system is ready to deployment and operation in an operating mode.^[1]
