The founder of the National Computer Corporation Alexander Kalinin created the Sovereign Mobile Initiative JSC. Holding "for the development and production of consumer mobile devices. In a conversation with Kommersant, Alexander Kalinin said that smartphones and tablets will be controlled by the Android OS. The design of devices, according to him, is carried out by the founder of Vobis Computer (produced smartphones under the Highscreen trademark) Vadim Kopin.

We are considering various options, it may be production at Russian factories or contract production at Chinese enterprises, "Kalinin explained.

It is alleged that prices will amount to 10-30 thousand rubles. In December 2023, it is planned to release the first batch of 100 thousand units. And in 2026 it is planned to increase production to 3-3.5 million units.

Sources of publication in the Russian electronics market were skeptical about the project: in their opinion, the company will have problems with licensing Google services in Russia, and in the future it will need to release smartphones for the Aurora OS.

The biggest question is how they license the use of Android with its GMS platform for use in Russia. Google will never take such a step, "said one of the interlocutors.

Fintech Lab analyst Sergei Vilyanov believes that smartphones will not be produced in Russia. Most likely, they will be ordered in China.

The company will probably order the original industrial design in Chinese factories, as Vobis Computer did when Highscreen was released, "he said.

According to the expert, against the background of the withdrawal from the market of some foreign manufacturers, devices of the middle price category on Android may be in demand.^[1]
