2023: Appointment to the position of CEO of Susumanzoloto

In early March 2023, it became known about the appointment of Valery Polyakov as the new general director of Susumanzoloto. Thus, there was the second change in the head of the gold mining company in a year after the arrival of Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company (UMMC) as a new shareholder. In August 2022, the Minister of Natural Resources of the Magadan Region Oleg Kosolapov became the general director of the gold miner.

The fact that Valery Polyakov headed Susumanzoloto was reported by Interfax on March 3, 2023, citing data from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (USRUL). According to the agency, Polyakov was previously the general director of one of Susumanzolot's mining subsidiaries, Drazhnik LLC. This company brings the greatest contribution to the indicators of Susumanzolot: in 2021, Drazhnik produced 1.8 tons out of 6.7 tons of total volume (data from the company's annual report). Also, Polyakov, according to the end of 2021, owned 0.039% of Susumanzolot.

Pavel Zhdanov, the founder of the Magadan publishing house Okhotnik, also wrote about the appointment of Valery Polyakov to the post of the new head of Susumanzoloto on his VKontakte page:

Not long was the century of the previous "effective manager," who worked hard on the field of denigration of the glorious name of the glorious company. Valery Alexandrovich can be congratulated, he has been in the company for many years, a real professional, knows the problems well and will be able to return the Status quo to SuGOK, which turns 85 this year. And this longevity is the merit of V.K. Christ and all people who for many years managed not only to maintain stability, but also to develop, annually increasing gold mining, providing people with work.
