2023: Delivery of technetium-99m generators GT-5K
On March 1, 2023, V/O Isotope JSC announced that it had signed contracts for the supply of technetium-99m GT-5K generators to the Republic of Armenia and germanium-68/gallium-68 generators to the Republic of Kazakhstan.
At the end of February, the first batch of technetium-99m GT-5K generators with sets was delivered to the Isotope Production Center CJSC in Yerevan. This is the sixth medical institution in Armenia to use Russian radioisotope products of ROSATOM. Technetium-99m generators are GT-5K used in the diagnosis of oncological, cardiological, neuroendocrine and other diseases during single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) procedures. Technetium-99m is the most popular isotope in nuclear medicine, on its basis more than 80% of diagnostic procedures are carried out.
To Kazakhstan, V/O Isotope JSC plans to supply three germanium-68/gallium-68 (68Ge/68Ga) generators during 2023. Radionuclides obtained using the germanium-68/gallium-68 generator are used in advanced medical diagnostics of oncological diseases, in particular during positron emission tomography (PET).
