2023: Analytical Infrastructure Migration to Hadoop
Gazprombank Mobile, in cooperation with IT partner GlowByte, has migrated its analytical infrastructure to the Hadoop ecosystem. Gazprombank Mobile announced this on March 6, 2023. The analytical infrastructure used by the mobile operator at the initial stage of the company's development coped well with its role, however, with the growth of the subscriber base of Gazprombank Mobile and the emergence of new types of products and services, the existing capacities could slow down the plans of the mobile operator for further development and disrupt the uninterrupted operation of the analytical infrastructure. Thus, over the past year, the number of Gazprombank Mobile subscribers has grown significantly, the volume of processed data has increased by 3.5 times.
Migration to Hadoop ecosystem big data technology has become part of the evolutionary process and life cycle of the system, laid down two years ago when developing the architecture of the analytical platform.
Now, after switching to scale-out Big Data technology, we are not limited in volume or performance, and the use of the cloud environment optimizes costs thanks to the Pay-as-you-go principle. The Open Source stack of Hadoop ecosystem technologies and the architectural approach allow us to further implement the concept of Data-as-a-Service, said Alexander Levchenko, Director of IT Infrastructure and Data Analytics, Gazprombank Mobile.

We have chosen a seamless migration approach in which switching to another system takes place transparently and without stopping technological processes for both analytical consumer systems and users. noted Evgeny Vilkov, CTO, GlowByte.

Further development plans involve the introduction of a data quality control system, integration with new data sources and the construction of new analytical storefronts.
