2023: Registration in the register of computer programs of Rospatent

The Metasphere immersive learning management platform, developed by Severstal-Infokom, has received state registration in the Rospatent computer program register. Severstal announced this on March 14, 2023.

Metasphere gives managers the opportunity to organize the process of training users on VR trainers: register them for courses, issue tasks, update educational content and run it on different devices. In addition, the solution allows you to collect to the analyst about the passage of programs, for example, to record the most frequent user errors, average time course completion, attentiveness indicators and other parameters. As of March 2023, employees at Cherepovets Steel Mill and some other industrial sites of Severstal are trained on VR simulators using Metasphere. Registration of the solution in Rospatent opens up the possibility of access to external customers.

Severstal has been engaged in VR development for five years: during this time, the company has created from scratch about 20 simulators of professional competencies and safety skills, which have trained over 5 thousand employees. As a result of the use of simulators, the adaptation of new employees is 1.5 times faster, and the number of critical errors made in the first months of work has decreased by 80%. Students who practice at the enterprise and do not have access to real equipment have the opportunity to work out the necessary technological operations with a subsequent assessment of implementation.

Among the advantages of VR training is visual visualization, which creates the effect of immersion in the process, the ability to learn directly in the workplace and, as a result, reduce the cost of educational infrastructure. It is important that VR allows you to work out production skills and rules of conduct in abnormal situations in a safe environment.
