About the project
Vodokhod is the largest shipping company and tourist operator in Russia. Since 2004, Vodokhod has been organizing cruise trips with visits to various cities and corners of the country, as well as expeditionary cruises to hard-to-reach regions: cruises along the Yenisei and a year-round expeditionary tour of Lake Baikal.
Task
The customer came to Extyl with the task of changing the interface of the site, finalizing the logic of ordering and implementing several custom solutions for working with tour operators.
Decision
Extyl has launched work on the project by two teams. One, in the outstaff format, strengthened the development in the client's inhous team, the other took up technical support, refinement of current systems and integrations.
Personal Account Improvements
You can order a tour on the site through the site. For individuals and legal entities, the possibilities of LC are different. Agency representatives through the site can contact their client base, book a large number of cabins, enter customer data after placing an order. For each agency, the CRS system forms a separate commission. Individuals cannot book more than 4 cabins, but they can issue an installment plan directly on the site, download a ticket and see the order history.
Extyl representatives made a revision that allowed managers to quickly file applications with children. Children under 3 years old do not need a separate place on the ship, and children from 14 years old have a passport and are issued "in an adult way." They also made a validation for each children's tariff, which does not allow you to issue an inappropriate passenger. In other words, the application will not be sent if the client tries to get the "Children without a place" placement type with a child over 3 years old. This saves the time of the client manager, who will re-register and resolve the issue with the payment of such applications.
The integrator redesigned and completely rewrote the personal account algorithm to stop errors in the console. We got rid of the tabular layout, it became more semantic. Now the cabinet is working faster.
The ordering process after modifications consists of 5 simple steps. You can automatically fill out the form if the customer's data matches the passenger. The progress bar natively pushes the user to the next step, and all the most important information is highlighted on the right of the page.
Interface
Another refinement was the block with additional services. Extyl representatives rewrote it to vue.js This allows you to make queries to the database and make real-time calculations without reloading the site page. This technology is more user friendly. It receives a quick interface response - it can use the page without waiting for the full download of content and see how the cost of the ticket changes.
Landing Designer and Widget for Operator Sites
Also, Extyl representatives made a special designer that allows you to quickly collect individual landings for agencies that do not have their own website and which are convenient to use a separate page for Vodokhod cruises.
We have developed a widget for the sites of tour operators - this is the insertion of a code into the sites of agencies, which demonstrates the prices, routes and ships from the Vodokhod base already with the commission of the tour operator. The agency can insert a widget into its site and show users available tours without having to do a manual cost calculation.
Result
Many improvements to the site were implemented to make it easier for Vodokhod customers to place orders, and for employees and tour operators to work with the client base and select cruises. They finalized the English version of the site, optimized the work of their personal account and developed several tools for quick demonstration and sale of cruises.
Extyl continues to cooperate with the Vodokhod team and develop the product as part of the retailer model and outstaff work.
