2023: Withdrawal of the "National Media Group" from the capital of the company
The National Media Group (NMG) has withdrawn from its joint business with Viasat. We are talking about Sinerji LLC, in which by March 21, 2023 the Shinerji 80% belongs to Granat LLC (operates in the field of television broadcasting). Another 20% belongs to Sabiero Holdings Limited limited liability company, according to the data of the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (USRUL).
NMG and the Shinerji group of companies officially confirmed to TASS the fact of withdrawal without disclosing details. The NMG explained the exit from the joint venture "business reasons." At the same time, no details were disclosed in the holding.
According to the agency's source, NMG decided to complete cooperation with Viasat, "since this created a conflict of interest in light of the new planned NMG joint venture with Rostelecom '." In 2022, the holding entered into an agreement of intent to combine Wink and more.tv video services, the process should be completed in 2023.
In addition to combining video services into the perimeter of the transaction and a new joint venture, Rostelecom's interactive television (IPTV) business will enter. And this means the appearance on the market of the largest player in the online cinema market, which also represents the largest set of paid channels, - said the interlocutor of TASS. |
According to him, by March 2023, more than 400 channels are available on the Wink platform, including Viasat channels, which have been merged under a single viju brand since March 2023. The decision on the NMG to withdraw from the Viasat joint venture also gives greater independence to the development of viju channels in the market, the informant added.
By March 2023, NMG already has a joint business with Rostelecom - Media Telecom, which has been distributing paid channels since 2018.[1]
