2023: Building a Company

Eduard Bendersky, co-owner of the Adamas jewelry chain, has created, allegedly, the first Russian ArtTech platform for art and wine trade. The project was called "ArtWednesday," it became known on March 22, 2023.

As a representative of the new company told RBC, the platform is designed to unite auction houses, gallery owners, artists, collectors and "ordinary people interested in buying art." The start of trading on the site is scheduled for March 31, 2023.

"ArtWednesday" will unite auction houses, gallery owners, artists, collectors and people planning to buy art objects

The platform has cooperation agreements with the Adamas jewelry chain, as well as with the wine company Simple, which will offer collectors "interesting and exclusive Fine & Rare lots."

Bendersky explained the launch of the new project by the fact that "the growing Russian art market has long demanded the creation of a single platform for the interaction of all participants."

The volume of investments in the project was not disclosed. It is known that among the partners of Bendersky to launch the platform are the creator of the Research Independent Examination named after P.M. Tretyakov and co-owner of the auction house "Art" Alexander Popov, as well as the head of the largest portal in Russia about the art market and auction ArtInvestment Yegor Molchanov.

Katrin Borisov, art director of the Ruarts Foundation and Gallery, believes that for such a project "now is the time." She explains this by the fact that "works, like money, remained in Russia," and many collectors invest even more diligently in the local market. However, there are many online auctions in Russia, and "it is important to stand out here with content and, as they say, usability [the ability of the service to be easy and convenient for user understanding and use]," she said in March 2023.[1]
