STUTE-Daimler (PSIwms)

One of leading manufacturers of cars and component parts, Daimler AG, charged management of the new logistic center (LLZ) in Hamburg to the known logistics provider Stute Verkehrs GmbH.

Less than in 4 months from the moment of signing of the contract before commissioning the PSI Logistics company fulfilled the requirements of the customer and gave necessary technical support in the moving which borrowed 6 weeks, old providers of logistics services in the new logistic center. 20 suppliers whose products were from this point delivered already from new LLZ were initial it; after moving LLZ works at full capacity with more than 270 suppliers. Such fast term of commissioning and an exit was at full capacity possible not least because of the stable standard PSIwms system.

In addition to the increase in capacity connected with moving to the new logistic center also a variety of the connected interfaces increased. Communications with suppliers are performed on the basis of the VDA standard. Connection of a SAP system of Daimler company was implemented on the basis of the EDIFACT interface expanded with the VDA standard and other specially adapted interfaces. Already on section of goods acceptance of delivery are accepted only according to electronic waybills. At the same time such services as verification of articles with exact compliance to transport units or, if necessary, repacking of goods are activated. Batches from expired orders at the same time go at once bypassing a warehouse directly to department of shipments.

At storage and optimization of replenishment action PSIwms works strictly according to the principle of FIFO "the first came - the first left". During a complete set and the subsequent collecting of the order of PSIwms, on the basis of strict instructions, provides grouping and sorting of goods taking into account production and warehouse sections and places, in combination with necessary requirements of packaging for the isolated small cargo carriers (KLT) on flat steel pallets. Then using administration of the diagram of transportations and working shifts PSIwms provides shipment of goods on the next possible flight. Printout of shipment documents, shipment using data transmission on radio and exchange of delivery notes with Daimler via the Internet complete logistic process.

Requirements of the customer

All center LLZ in general is controlled and optimized by the integrative system solution of PSIwms of development of PSI Logistics GmbH company. At the same time the following sections are controlled and controlled:

• Block warehouse of big GLT cargo carriers (goods of class C and other types of cargo carriers)
• Rack warehouse of big GLT cargo carriers and packs of KLT (small cargo carriers); goods of the class A-/B - *skvoznoy the channel for packs of KLT (goods of class A) and KLT (goods of class B)
• Shelf racks for KLT are goods of the class C-/D

Logistic solutions

Logistic processes in general were in detail described together with the client, and, proceeding from it, the software solution PSIwms was adapted to them by a kastomayzing posrdstvo. Together with all interested partners working with different interfaces, including SAP, already at a pre-launch stage all necessary tests of network communications were carried out so that considerably to reduce duration of commissioning. After this stage became possible to begin directly training of local staff at production.

Simple program management of PSIwms revealed the positive aspects at the subsequent stage of moving.

At the same time the software solution PSIwms works with the corresponding protection in the computer center STUTE in other warehouse of this logistics provider in Hamburg and is connected with the client of Daimler using a high-speed radio channel.

In addition to mobile workstations for acceptance and repacking of goods, for a complete set, internal transportation and, at last, shipment, operators use broadband wireless data transmission systems. At emergence of questions or malfunctions, the service center PSI Logistics at the request of the client addresses through remote access directly the adjacent connected systems.
