Requirements
The logistic center consists of a high-rack warehouse with a capacity about 5500 warehouse places at 7 levels of double depth and an automatic warehouse of fine details approximately on 12000 places. In total more than 60000 products from which about 800 positions are delivered to a warehouse and it is selected daily are stored in the logistic center.
The advantics.WM and advantics.TC systems - developments of PSI Logistics - in this logistic center are responsible for management of a warehouse and transport. All movements in a warehouse are executed using a mobile broadcast of data, or, as in an automatic warehouse of fine details - through SPS. The complete set in both warehouses is executed by the principle "goods to the person" using mobile radio terminals, and in an automatic warehouse of fine details – using the pipeline. Selection on paper technology is executed only in specialized warehouses. The fork loaders used in a high-rack warehouse are equipped with radio terminals for data transmission, and some - portable printers. Management of replenishment action is organized in the direction from a high-rack warehouse to a warehouse of fine details.
Specifics of interfaces
The software developed by PSI Logistics contacts higher SAP R/2 level through SAP R/3 system working as the gateway. Work in a foreground mode in this system was not conducted, it served only as the interface transformer. Thus, standard R/3 IDOC interface could be used for communication with the used advantics program though the Mahle company worked also with R/2. Meanwhile, Mahle passed to the system of SAP/R3, thus, communication is performed via the certified interface of development PSI Logistics. For this purpose it was required to make insignificant adaptation only.
Software implementation for management of a warehouse from PSI Logistics solved the following problems:
- Consolidation of different warehouse zones
- Optimization of warehouse transactions
- The synergy effects implemented on the platform Mahle Filtersysteme thanks to concentration, for example, economy of warehouse costs.
