VMware

Less than in a decade the activity of VMware led to reorganization of work of data centers and management systems of software around the world, having made virtualization one of the main trends in IT. According to a recent research of InformationWeek Analytics, 45% of respondents noted that they are going to virtualize at least a half of the servers used by them by the end of 2011. One more merit of VMware, according to the analyst of the edition Charlie Babcock, consists in promotion of creation of private "clouds" based on middleware software of the company. "Being a supplier of the hypervisors and virtual machines used to creation, use, monitoring and management of "clouds", the company is also known as vendor of the most "advanced" management systems for data centers", - he noted.

Salesforce.com

One more participant of the camp most of the innovation and strategic vendors, Salesforce.com, developed one of the most successful industrial IT delivery patterns of software as service (SaaS) for the CRM-applications that made Force.com the leading platform for creation of the most different services according to the SaaS model. Having developed this model, now Salesforce moves ahead in the new fields of delivery of applications for business, in particular, recently having started the platform of the Chatter app applications like that that uses Facebook.

Google

So far Research In Motion and other vendors (as well as Linux community) are going to give the adequate answer to iPhone, the Google Android platform promoted from a zero share in the market of operating rooms a system for smartphones in the USA in 2007 up to 17% according to the last quarter of this year, and, according to ComScore, at the moment it is conceded in popularity only by BlackBerry (39%) and iPhone (24%). According to the analyst Fritz Nelson, Google can win with ease the first place in the market of software for smartphones as positions Android as well as Microsoft the Windows OS: rejecting existence of any other alternative systems. Netezza

Netezza startup became the pioneer in delivery of the comprehensive applications integrating storage, processing of data, databases and analytics in one functional system ten years ago. Today the company totals hundreds of industrial clients, including Nationwide, Neiman Marcus and NYSE Euronext. IBM announced the plans for purchase of Netezza for $1.7 billion recently that will deliver it in a serious competitive position in relation to Oracle, Teradata and HP.

Vontu

Vontu created the leading solution for data loss prevention and in 2007 Symantec was absorbed, transaction amount was $350 million. This acquisition became result of close partnership of Symantec with Vontu and served as an important component of the concept of Symantec Security 2.0 which transfers focus of security technologies from simple protection of systems and devices to protection of the information.
