ItellaNLC - BAT (PSIwms)

''British American Tobacco, the world's second in value chastnokapitalny producer of tobacco products, the new logistic center constructed in St. Petersburg in 2005. The National Logistic Company (NLC), the largest logistics provider in Russia, services the BAT complex of 27000 sq.m.

In warehouse and production areas are accepted and unloaded both raw materials and additional materials, and semi-finished goods, a packing  material and finished goods. The implemented warehouse management system PSIwms of PSI Logistics company is responsible for efficiency and process optimization in the logistic center. For less than 6 months between obtaining the order and installation PSI Logistics developed a volume IT system for NLK, including Russian - as language for the user and formatting on Cyrillics. The software is ground under individual requirements of the logistic center in St. Petersburg due to parametrization and a possibility of replenishment of a system.

Processes

The raw materials and additional materials necessary for production are stored in raw-material storage about 3 months. From here they are timely delivered on production under control a host system. PSIwms manages timely unloading of different sorts of tobacco, additional materials, filters and cigarette paper and also their selection and transfer to production. The made semi-finished products (the mixed tobacco sorts) and ready cigarettes go back to a warehouse and are stored there in special areas of a warehouse. For warehousing of cardboards space on about 10000 places is reserved and from these places cardboards go the PSIwms system directly to production.

The warehouse of ready goods is subdivided into the field of replenishment having 4000 places for Palette and the area of a piking having 200 storage locations and can contain 1.5 billion cigarettes. The Piking and preparation for sending tobacco products is carried out according to the arrived orders. For such PSIwms tasks can count optionally the maximum number of packaging units for optimal loading on trucks. Besides WMS takes into account the different strategy of loading and sending, proceeding from extent of maturing of finished goods. So orders for Moscow and its environment are unloaded by the principle of Fifo. Orders for the remote regions, such as Siberia, are selected by the principle of Lifo. Time of transportation is used for maturing of tobacco products.

Configuration

PSIwms is delivered on one cluster of Windows - 2000 as the solution Hot-Standby with two redundantny HPs servers and the Advanced Server Windows 2000 operating system. Data storage is carried out in the Oracle database (version 9). For processing orders of a piking and creation of stocks mobile radio terminals of Symbol company and also a terminal server of IND company are used. All these systems are PSIwms subsystems. For service support in PSI Hot-Standby access to the server is organized. At the expense of it experts of PSI have if necessary full access to the software.
