''CEVA Logistics – the world's second largest logistic operator. Activity of CEVA Logistics covers a broad spectrum of logistics services – from consultation, creation of the concept and development before implementation and commissioning of the finished logistic solutions for supply chains.

CEVA Logistics uses the central warehouse created in 1989 in Regensburg for needs tire and ESKA-Reifendienst GmbH trade enterprise. From here the ESKA company performs deliveries worldwide. On the area of 8,500 sq.m it can be stored up to 250,000 buses for passenger and about 2,000 buses for trucks. Divisions of ESKA company are located in 10 localities of Central Franconia, Upper Pfalts, the Lower and Upper Bavaria.

Taking into account long-term partnership and many jointly the implemented projects in the field of logistics of the buses CEVA charged PSI Logistics companies delivery of the warehouse management system PSIwms. The warehouse in Regensburg is going to be operated manually, without the hoisting-and-transport equipment. Different commodity groups and shape of sales of goods will be kept by the special procedure of a complete set. The special customer requirements connected with shipment are integrated into the PSIwms system.

Requirements

The warehouse of buses consists of 15,000 racks on 7,000 places of warehousing. 3000 of them are in a narrow passes warehouse, 2000 – in a multilevel warehouse and 600 – in a block warehouse. Besides, there are places for storage of related products – cameras, bolts for fastening of wheels, accumulators and also a rack warehouse for storage of fine details. The PSIwms system manages receipt, a complete set, a holiday and shipment of goods. Depending on a season, in a day from 100 to 800 orders containing up to 1500 positions are processed. Thanks to only manual transactions, CEVA can react very flexibly to seasonal fluctuations using the special strategy of optimal warehousing and management of different commodity groups and the warehouse enterprise the PSIwms system maintains very simple sequence of transactions in which it is possible to train easily and quickly even temporary employees.
