2023: Product Announcement

In mid-April 2023, Kaspersky Lab introduced a mobile detector to detect flying drones. The device is called Kaspersky Antidrone Portable, it is intended for use at public events, protecting private property and transport infrastructure.

According to the developers, the novelty allows you to determine the exact location of the most common UAV models within a radius of up to 1 km, as well as the position of the operator controlling it. At the same time, the detector weighs less than 5 kg and is placed in a small case.

The device can work offline for up to two hours. Its operator, moving around the perimeter of the protected area, can also independently expand the search radius. The accessory can be used in conjunction with a mobile drone suppressor.

According to TASS, citing a statement from Kaspersogo Lab, the main target audience of Kaspersky Antidrone Portable is government organizations and businesses that face the need for timely and accurate detection of drones in a certain location and within a given period of time. The amount of funds invested in the development of the project was not specified in the company.

Kaspersky Lab has unveiled a device to protect infrastructure from drones amid the increase in drone attacks in Russia. For example, such incidents were reported by the authorities of Adygea, Belgorod and the Bryansk region, as well as the Krasnodar Territory and the Moscow Region.

In early March 2023, Izvestia reported a massive drone attack on an airfield in Saki in Crimea, as well as on neighboring infrastructure facilities on the peninsula. All drones were destroyed. According to the interlocutors of the publication, the attack was organized by the armed forces of Ukraine.[1]
