Roskomnadzor buys hardware analyzers of radio networks for Crimea and Rostov for 1.7 billion rubles

At the end of April 2023 Main Radio Frequency Center (GRCC; included in) Roskomnadzor announced several tenders for the purchase of equipment for determining geographical coordinates, mobile and stationary small-sized technical complexes of radio control, analyzers of radio networks and spectrum, as well as antenna complexes. It is planned to install this equipment in the branches of the GRCC in, and To the Crimea Sevastopol Rostov-on-Don.

As Forbes writes with reference to materials on the public procurement website, in total, the GRCC will spend 1.77 billion on the purchase of equipment for determining the location of radio emission sources and spectrum analysis. This is a rather tangible amount for the GRCC: in the past four years, the center has concluded contracts for 3-3.36 billion rubles a year, the newspaper notes, having studied the data from the SPARK-Interfax system.

A Forbes source in one of the operators admitted that the GRCC will control and clear the spectrum for civilian needs. According to the informant, "it is quite possible that a number of electronic means (transmitters) of different standards and frequencies have accumulated on the territory." According to another interlocutor of the publication, the purchased equipment will allow the GRCC to check the compliance of the radiation values ​ ​ declared by telecom operators, which will give Roskomnadzor "the widest possible opportunities" in order to fine operators. The "other tasks" theoretically include the possibility of using the purchased equipment in electronic warfare (electronic warfare) as part of a military special operation, experts interviewed by the magazine say.

The Main Radio Frequency Center and Roskomnadzor told the publication that the center is constantly modernizing equipment. Such measures allow the company to provide effective control over the operation of electronic equipment in Russia.[1]
