2022: Building a Corporate Digital Data Management Platform

Purposes

  • Implementation of the objectives of the Digital Transformation Strategy in terms of creating mechanisms for data management and the formation of a digital ecosystem
  • Creation of a corporate digital management platform data "NESTRO DATA" as a centralized source of the "Unified Version of Truth" on all main aspects of the Company's activities to improve the efficiency of analytical work with data and making management decisions.
  • Unification, standardization and regulation of data collection, processing and analysis processes
  • Increase the speed of report generation and coordination, as well as improve data quality and eliminate the risk of loss/distortion of information due to lack of human factors
  • Generate additional revenue and reduce costs from centralized management and efficient use of quality data

Implementation complexity

IT infrastructure Zarubezhneft"" has a highly branched network. Assets are located both in the territory and of the Russian Federation in the territory of foreign countries Vietnam Egypt:,,,,,. Cuba Indonesia Uzbekistan Bosnia and Herzegovina Each Asset uses its own production information systems. All this imposed additional difficulties on the formation of working groups, conducting a survey of specialized production systems involved in the project, establishing communication channels that allow uninterrupted transmission of the required amounts of data. In addition, the NESTRO DATA project was launched within the framework of covid, sanctions restrictions and accounting for import substitution policies. It was necessary to promptly conduct an additional analysis of the available ON and rebuild the process of purchasing the necessary infrastructure capacity on the go.

Thus, for the implementation of the NESTRO DATA project, software included in the register of domestic software was selected. At the same time, domestic data management software does not have the flexibility inherent in foreign counterparts, which also entailed additional labor costs for adapting solutions to the needs of the project.

Project Description

During the project implementation, 5 components of the NESTRO DATA digital data management platform were created:

  • KSD
  • QCD
  • Unstructured Data Catalog and Storage
  • Business Intelligence (BI) System
  • Geological Information Visualization System

All platform components were created exclusively using software products included in the register of domestic software. Each of the platform components provides the following functionality:

KSD:

  • Schedule jobs to load and process data from source systems
  • Managing the Methods and Dependencies of Job Execution for Data Loading and Processing
  • Automatically uploads data from source systems to the platform
  • Data extraction and conversion. Manage the calculation, transformation of data within NESTRO DATA
  • Keep data up-to-date in the platform by automatically updating from source systems on a regular basis
  • Monitoring and Management of Integration Processes

QCD:

  • Single point of access to data from all source systems
  • Unification of indicators taking into account standardization of additional analysts
  • Eliminate duplication of the same data from different source systems
  • Enrichment of indicators of one information system by analysts from other systems
  • Abandonment of functional wells when searching for non-core information

Unstructured Data Catalog and Storage:

  • Load, retrieve, and convert unstructured data to file storage
  • View the document registry as a hierarchy or table with grouping, sorting, filters
  • Multivariable search for unstructured data by metadata
  • Flexible configuration of the metadata list in the object card
  • A single user interface that provides access to all project documentation

Business Intelligence (BI) System:

  • Interactive dashboards with key performance indicators of the Company for management
  • Management access to the necessary data at any time without the involvement of responsible specialists
  • Single point of entry and control of non-source data
  • Automated calculation of new measures based on loaded data
  • Automatically generate and update regular reporting forms at regular intervals
  • Optimizing the timing of cross-functional report reconciliation by implementing parallel routes and a single information space
  • Implementation of the end-to-end reporting process, subsidiaries - corporate center.

Geological Information Visualization System:

  • End-to-end navigation from well data in the Electronic Catalog to associated objects in the Visualization System
  • Read unstructured information and export it in structured form with the ability to describe objects, visualize basic characteristics in tabular or graphical form
  • Mechanisms for checking the completeness and quality of the geological and geophysical information loaded into the system and any design information, as well as data from interpretation projects, including control of data duplication, object naming rules, boundary values ​ ​ of parameters and manual input errors, checking for compliance with reference books
  • Customizable tools for monitoring the life cycle of geological subsoil exploration projects with creation of tasks for the contractor, informing him about the tasks and monitoring the implementation
