2024: Completion of import substitution of EIAP software
Russian Post imported the software of the Unified Information and Analytical Platform (EIAP), replacing foreign database management and business analytics systems with domestic ones. The company announced this on January 27, 2025.
The EIAP combines data from different Mail information systems, centrally processes and stores information on the company's servers. The platform is a single center for decision support and planning of postal logistics and allows you to have access to free information about business events.
As of January 2025, the platform contains about 9.7 petabytes of data, combines more than 900 servers and about 20 different technology platforms, processing more than 7,000 data streams daily.
Partners were Arenadata DB and Luxms BI Visual Management Control. The project lasted two years, during which IT specialists installed domestic software and transferred key functions. Employees of the Russian Post also received training on developer training platforms for working with the system.
The completion of this project is an important step in the direction of digital transformation of the Mail and strengthening the position of domestic software in the market, - said Dmitry Chudinov, Deputy General Director of the Russian Post. - We are developing internal technologies to ensure independence in strategic areas, as well as improve the quality of services provided to our customers. |
Data is one of the most important assets of any company. The import substitution project implemented by the Russian Post allowed the organization to get a domestic solution that makes it possible to work effectively with the available data, "said Maxim Vlasyuk, Director of the Arenadata Group Department for Work with the Industrial Sector. |
2023: Arenadata Platform Transition
IT One, together with Arenadata, has implemented a pilot project for the Russian Post to migrate data to the Arenadata platform. As a result, the customer tested a high-performance solution for analyzing and building data marts and was able to test potential technologies for implementing the enterprise's import substitution strategy. Arenadata announced this on June 8, 2023.
Russian Post collects in its information systems a huge amount of diverse data to be processed and analyzed using a set of software solutions, including products of different solutions. Taking into account the general trend towards ensuring technological stability, the company decided to pilot the domestic Arenadata platform and assess how it meets the expectations and needs of the Russian Post.
The pilot was implemented on the basis Arenadata DB (ADB) of - scalable analytical, DBMS built on technology with. open source Greenplum
The objectives of the pilot project included:
- Migration of customer data marts for functional and load testing
- Integration of the new DBMS with existing software ETLs and BI solutions
- adaptation and revision of changes in the code of loading procedures, calculations, information panels and reporting forms;
- working out the best practices for using the data model and methods for loading, calculating and extracting data optimal for the Arenadata DB/Greenplum ecosystem;
- Measurement of time for building storefronts and distribution of data from new sources.
The IT_One specialists agreed with the customer on the objectives of the pilot project and various requirements, including the functionality of the solutions being implemented, the internal specification for building data marts, analytical reports and features of data transfer. On the IT_One side, the architecture of the Arenadata DB-based solution was presented, including the components used and the implementation of replication and data building processes.
When building the storefronts, the difference in the technologies for processing distributed data of the source and target DBMS was taken into account, since the "seamless" migration of data to Arenadata DB was not implemented.
In the final, IT_One specialists demonstrated the work of data storefronts, both in Arenadata DB, and taking into account the upload/upload of data from ADB to the existing BI-tools of Russian Post. The Owner confirmed that all the goals and objectives of the pilot project have been successfully implemented.
At each stage of the project, the teams of specialists of the Russian Post, IT_One and Arenadata worked closely together, which made it possible to successfully implement an ambitious pilot project.
For several years now, Russian Post has been systematically moving towards technological sovereignty, transferring the IT infrastructure to Russian software and hardware solutions. Among the goals of our digital transformation strategy is to increase the share of use of domestic IT products. Case proved that with the help of a competent contractor and our own expertise, we are able to implement complex, time-consuming pilot projects that show the entire market maturity and competitiveness of Russian developments, "said Dmitry Chudinov, Deputy General Director, Russian Post. |
I would note the two main conclusions that we made based on the results of the pilot project. First, the very possibility of transferring analytical storage to the Arenadata DB platform was proved, while maintaining its functionality and basic functionality. That is, in fact, we laid the foundation for future projects to fully migrate to the Arenadata DB platform. And the second thing that should be emphasized is that we have demonstrated the necessary competencies of IT One in this area that will help us in further such projects, "said Pyotr Levin, Director of Software Development at IT One. |
The Arenadata team needed to solve non-standard tasks, so we paid special attention to the project at every stage of it. Looking at the results of the pilot project, we are confident that our products have every opportunity to help Russian Post achieve technological sovereignty, "said Pavel Ishkov, director of the Arenadata sales department. |
