In mid-June 2023, the N.N. Burdenko National Medical Research Center of Neurosurgery signed a contract for 662.4 million rubles with the construction company Veles-Stroy for the reconstruction of part of the clinical medical building. A Scientific and Clinical Neuro-Oncological Center will be created in the updated premises.

A contract for the reconstruction of part of the medical building of the N.N. Burdenko. Reconstruction in 2023 is needed to create a Scientific and Clinical Neuro-Oncology Center with an underground passage to the PET Center. The main contractor was appointed Veles-Stroy LLC. The contract value is 662.4 million rubles.

Veles-Stroy was founded in 2007, the company's customers were the Moscow Government, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. On February 22, 2023, Veles-Stroy was selected for the competition for the reconstruction of the N.N. Burdenko National Medical Research Center of Neurosurgery. Due to the fact that only one proposal was received from Veles-Stroy, an audit and coordination with the FAS was carried out.

N.N. Burdenko National Medical Research Center of Neurosurgery is the main neurosurgical institution in Russia. Every year, about 10 thousand neurosurgical operations are carried out in a medical institution with a wide range of diseases of the nervous system, and in addition to surgical interventions, radiotherapy and chemotherapy are carried out.

As of June 2023, 87 researchers and 184 doctors of various specialties work in the medical center, of which 19 professors of the Higher Attestation Commission, 52 doctors of sciences, 3 academicians, 33 professors of the Department of Neurosurgery, 2 professors of the Russian Academy of Sciences and 4 corresponding members. Every year, employees of the medical center publish more than 300 scientific articles in Russian and foreign peer-reviewed medical journals, which ensures a high rating of the N.N.
