2023: Mishustin launched a program for the development of agrobiotechnoparks and allocated 1.5 billion rubles for it

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree by which he launched a program for the development of agrobiotechnoparks and allocated 1.5 billion rubles for it. The press service of the Cabinet of Ministers announced this on July 3, 2023.

The network of agro-industrial parks will become a platform for interaction between scientific organizations and enterprises of the agro-industrial complex. The results of scientific, technical and innovative activities will be immediately tested and introduced into the process of agricultural production.

Agro-industrial parks will specialize in research and innovative activities in the field of biotechnology, animal and crop breeding, food and feed additives, plant protection products and a number of other areas in demand by farmers. At such sites, it will be possible not only to conduct scientific projects, but also to almost immediately launch small-scale production, experiment and process agricultural products.

State support will be allocated for the design and modernization of industrial and technological infrastructure facilities of the park, comprehensive equipment for the production of biotechnology products, scientific research and experimental developments in the field of biotechnology. A special commission of the Ministry of Agriculture will distribute grants and determine their size based on the results of competitive selection.

We hope that this mechanism will become an effective support measure for residents of agrobiotechnoparks and will help provide domestic material to the needs of our agricultural producers, which in turn guarantees the supply of high-quality and affordable food to the domestic market, - said Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting with Deputy Prime Ministers on July 3, 2023.
