2024

Production of fire extinguishers in Russia for the year decreased by 17% to 6.1 million units

In 2024, the production of fire extinguishers in Russia decreased to 6.1 million units. The drop was 17% compared to 2023. This is evidenced by the data of the analytical company Alto Consulting Group, released in October 2025.

The Central Federal District retained a dominant position in the production of fire extinguishers. It accounted for 92.2% of the total output. The region has a developed logistics infrastructure and qualified personnel.

Average producer prices showed steady growth between 2022 and 2024. The cost increased by 44.4%. Unit price rose from ₽9 687 to ₽13 987.

Production of fire extinguishers in Russia decreased by 17% over the year

The main reasons for the reduction in steel production:

  • Increase in the cost of components and raw materials.
  • Increased logistics and energy costs.
  • Changing product certification requirements.
  • Market correction after a period of active growth.
  • Increased competition in the domestic market.

In July 2025, a sharp decrease in the average price of 36.7% was recorded. The figure was ₽24 096 apiece. This change is due to the one-time supply of specialized products of high cost.

Manufacturers are implementing automated assembly lines. Robotic testing of finished products is developing. Quality control systems use artificial intelligence technologies.

The range of produced fire extinguishers is expanding. Manufacturers offer powder and carbon dioxide models. The production of aerosol versions of equipment is also developing.

Enterprises adapt products to modern safety standards. Environmental requirements for production are taken into account. Higher efficiency of extinguishing and service life.

Alto Consulting Group analysts predict market stabilization in 2025-2027. A possible increase in output is expected. The role of domestic brands in the domestic market will strengthen.[1]

Wholesale sales of security and fire alarm devices in Russia for the year increased by 22% and reached 46.68 billion rubles

The production of security and fire alarm devices in Russia in 2024 reached ₽46,68 billion, which is 22.0% higher than in 2023. The growth demonstrates the strengthening of the domestic market for security systems and the increasing role of domestic manufacturers in shaping the country's technological independence. The key leader region was the Volga Federal District, which provided about 39.7% of the total production. There are concentrated leading enterprises specializing in the production of equipment for security and fire systems, as well as components used in integrated security systems. This is evidenced by the data of the analytical company Alto Consulting Group, released in October 2025.

The main driver of the increase in output was increased demand for solutions that ensure the safety of critical infrastructure, industry and housing. The active introduction of digital technologies, the transition to intelligent monitoring systems and the development of smart buildings form a new phase in the evolution of the industry. The Russian market for security and fire alarm devices is characterized by steady growth based on system digitalization, the development of domestic technologies and an increase in safety requirements at facilities for various purposes.

The market in 2024 showed one of the best growth rates in the last five years, which indicates its maturity and potential for further expansion. Major trends driving industry development include increased demand for intelligent signalling systems with the ability to integrate with other smart building subsystems, an increase in the number of domestic producers developing their own technologies and reducing dependence on imported components, expanding the use of wireless solutions that simplify the installation and maintenance of security systems, transition to centralized management platforms and remote monitoring, implementation of domestic quality standards and increased requirements for product certification.[2]

The volume of the Russian fire safety services market for the year grew to ₽369,1 billion

The volume of the Russian market for fire safety services in 2024 increased by 0.9% and reached ₽369,1 billion. Such data were published on February 26, 2025 by analysts from Gidmarket.

According to them, despite the nominal growth, taking into account inflation, the real market growth rate remained negative and amounted to -5.3%. Analysis of the dynamics over the past five years shows that in 2020 the market volume was ₽393,7 billion, after which in 2021 there was a decrease of 13.2% to ₽341,8 billion. In 2022, the market continued to decline by 0.7%, reaching ₽339,5 billion.

A significant recovery began in 2023, when the market volume increased by 7.8% and reached ₽365,8 billion. In 2024, positive dynamics remained, although the growth rate slowed significantly to 0.9%.

If we consider the indicators adjusted for, inflation the picture looks less optimistic: in 2021 the market contracted by 16.8%, in 2022 the fall was 18.1%. In 2023, despite nominal growth, the real growth rate was -4.7%.

Despite the difficult economic situation, the fire safety industry continues to attract investments, which indicates the high importance of this area to ensure the protection of facilities and people. The main factors supporting the positive dynamics of the market are:

  • Tightening fire safety standards, encouraging companies to constantly update systems;
  • Active introduction of innovative solutions by domestic manufacturers;
  • Maintaining security as a priority for organizations regardless of the economic situation.

Industry experts predict good prospects for further growth in the fire safety market. The main areas of development will be the expansion of the use of modern technologies, such as wireless systems and intelligent solutions, the integration of fire safety systems with other aspects of building management, as well as the continuation of work on import substitution and the development of domestic production.[3]

2023: The Ministry of Digital Industry will create a single IT system for monitoring fire safety for 11 billion rubles

On November 21, 2023, the Russian Ministry of Digital Development announced a project to create a federal fire safety platform. The total costs of implementing the initiative are estimated at approximately 11 billion rubles.

According to the Vedomosti newspaper, we are talking about the development of a specialized IT system for monitoring fires in forests. The head of the Ministry of Ministry of Digital Development Maksut Shadayev spoke about the project. According to him, video surveillance cameras will be mounted on the masts of cellular towers installed in the forests to track fires: these needs will require 4 billion rubles. The creation of the monitoring platform itself will cost another 7 billion rubles.

Ministry of Digital Development unveils project to create federal fire safety platform

In 2022, President Vladimir Putin signed a decree "On measures to reduce the area of forest fires in the Russian Federation." The document provides for a decrease in the area of forest fires on the lands of the forest fund in 2022-2030 by at least 50% compared to the indicators of 2021. In addition, by 2030, the share of forest fires on forest lands liquidated within the first day from the moment of detection should approach 100%.

The new initiative will Ministry of Digital Development contribute to the implementation of the decree and reduce the total number of fires. According to the Social Fund of Russia, in 2023, the area of fires for forest lands amounted to 4.3 million hectares, which is 1.3 times less than the limit for the corresponding year set by the government (5.5 million hectares).
