2023: Product Announcement

In early July 2023, the Chinese company Fourier Intelligence introduced the humanoid general-purpose robot GR-1. Thanks to a special design, the machine can avoid obstacles, climb and descend slopes, as well as carry loads comparable to its own weight.

Fourier Intelligence specializes mainly in rehabilitation technologies. The robot shown can cope with tasks such as transporting patients between beds and wheelchairs. In addition, he will be able to perform the functions of a home assistant.

With a height of 165 cm and a weight of about 55 kg, the humanoid GR-1 has a maximum walking speed of about 5 km/h. Electric actuators provide 40 degrees of freedom, which makes it possible to perform relatively complex operations. The electric motors of the GR-1 received quite high power - the largest of them, located in the hips, produces torque up to 300 N·m.

The robotic platform can provide self-balancing when walking and allows you to perform various tasks. We can program GR-1 sit, stand and jump. You can adjust your hands so that they raise dishes and tools and perform other operations, "said Zen Koh, CEO and co-founder of Fourier Intelligence.

The humanoid project was GR-1 launched in 2019. Since 2021, various samples have been tested, including full-size ones. Fourier Intelligence intends to produce at least 100 commercial copies by the end of 2023. Robots are expected to interest hospitals, nursing homes and other organizations. The humanoid can also become a smart companion for the elderly, who, for a number of reasons, are forced to stay alone for a long time.[1]
