2023: Opportunity to contact the courier

Yandex Food customers will be able to contact couriers in the chat. The company announced this on July 28, 2023.

For example, in this way, the client can clarify his address or ask the delivery person not to ring the doorbell, but to leave the order next to her. Chat is a convenient way to communicate with the courier, including for the hard of hearing and deaf, and other people with health characteristics who prefer correspondence rather than talking on the phone.

Chat allows not only the client to contact the courier, but also vice versa. For example, the delivery person can write himself to ask for the intercom code or how to find the entrance. After the order is delivered, all messages in the chat are automatically deleted.

To write to the chat, just click the "Contact the courier" button in Food. It appears immediately after the service assigns a delivery person to order. Yandex Food does not transfer any personal data of the client to the courier through the chat. The chat works all the time while the order is delivered, and then closes for both the client and the courier. The service automatically moderates all chat conversations - and if it detects unacceptable messages, it will delete them within a few seconds.

For July 2023, the chat is at the final testing stage - and is already available to most Food customers. Soon it will start working for everyone who uses the service, and also for buyers in Market Deliveri. In the future, this will appear in Yandex Shop.
