2023: Plant construction begins

In the Tyumen region, the construction of one of the largest plants in the Russian Federation for deep processing of peas has begun. The project worth 6.7 billion rubles is being implemented by the Yubileiny agricultural holding, the press service of the Rosselkhozbank, which provided credit funds, said at the end of July 2023.

Construction is planned to be completed by 2027. After that, commissioning work will be carried out during the year, and by 2029 the enterprise will reach full capacity. At the same time, its design capacity will be 70 thousand tons per year.^[1]

An enterprise called Proteinsib will produce pea protein isolate, pea starch and fiber. Pea protein isolate - extracted and purified from fat, carbohydrates and fiber yellow pea protein. It is suitable for people with lactose and gluten intolerance, it can be applied in sports nutrition. Dry pea fiber is used as a natural replacement for chemical emulsifiers, texturators and stabilizers, it enriches products with dietary fiber. Pea starch is used as a flavor improver in confectionery and bakery products.

The implementation of an investment project in the Tyumen region will make it possible to take a grandiose step in the development of a new technology for our country for the isolation of proteins and starches from plant raw materials. Of course, the implementation of such a large-scale project is possible thanks to the unification of the efforts of the authorities and business. We will receive direct assistance from the regional budget, we will also receive support from the federation, and the Rosselkhozbank will be the main financial partner of the project, "said Sergei Mamontov, director of the Yubileiny Agroholding Group.

According to him, by the end of July 2023, the design of the first and second stages of construction was completed and construction and installation work began at the facility.
