2023: The Government of Ukraine handed over to Ukrnafta 3 companies belonging to Tatneft

The Government of Ukraine transferred to Ukrnafta 3 companies belonging to TATNEFT: Poltava-Capital LLC, Kharkov-Capital LLC and Tatneft-AZS-Ukraine. This was reported on August 15, 2023 by the TASS agency with reference to the deputy of the Ukrainian parliament Alexei Goncharenko (included in the list of terrorists and extremists of Rosfinmonitoring).

According to him, the companies own gas stations and other real estate and movable property. Earlier, these companies with Russian owners were arrested, Goncharenko said. Initially, these companies intended to give to the management of Naftogaz, but then changed the decision, added the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada.

At the end of 2022, it became known that the assets of Russian energy companies such as Tatneft and VS Energy were seized in Ukraine in order to increase the country's energy independence. It was clarified that 115 real estate objects were transferred under Ukrainian management, which include oil depots, gas stations, buildings, land plots, as well as 118 trucks and cars.

In early August 2023, the Security Service of Ukraine announced that the assets of businessmen from Russia in the amount of $5.1 billion had been arrested in the country since 2022.

Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov previously stated that confiscation of property, arrests of aircraft, property, sanctions against Russian businessmen demonstrate the collapse of the sanctity of private property in the West and the danger of doing business there.

Ukrnafta is the largest oil and gas company in Ukraine, with about 1.8 thousand oil and about 150 gas wells on its balance sheet (by August 2023).[1]
