Education

In 2002, Bashankaev graduated with honors from the PMGMU named after I.M. Sechenov, three years later received a presidential scholarship for young scientists and went to study in the United States.

Career

2023: Appointment as Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Health Protection

In early June 2023, Badma Bashankaev was appointed new chairman of the State Duma Committee on Health Protection. He replaced Dmitry Khubezov, who had previously asked to be relieved of this position in order to volunteer for a special military operation.

I made a decision for myself to resign as chairman of the committee in order to be able to go to the zone of a special military operation. Of course, the committee cannot remain without a chairman for such a long time either. Therefore, we recommended and supported my deputy Badma Bashankaev, with whom we drove new regions together. It's hard to name those clinics wherever we are together. I am sure there is a lot ahead that needs to be done within the framework of the legislation. And I, as I promised the guys, when I left the first time, when it would be hard, I will definitely return, "said Dmitry Khubezov.

Badma Bashankaev, in turn, thanked United Russia for its trust, and also expressed separate words of gratitude to Dmitry Khubezov.

Dmitry Anatolyevich Khubezov is my leader, mentor in medicine and politics. I have great respect for him as a surgeon, and I have great respect for his civic act. During its work, the committee was among the top ten. We have big plans ahead of us. Surgeon Badma Bashankaev is the author of more than 40 scientific articles, including on colorectal oncology.^[1]
