2023: Product Announcement
In mid-August 2023, the American company Somatic introduced a smart robot for cleaning toilets. The machine is capable of performing routine work from day to day, partially replacing service personnel in hotels, medical institutions, office buildings, etc.
The Somatic robot is endowed with a set of various sensors to help it navigate space. It uses a 3D environment map for navigation. The robot is able to independently move between floors on the elevator and open the doors using a manipulator. Having arrived at the cleaning site, the mechanized assistant uses various replaceable nozzles to apply cleaning and disinfectants to the plumbing. A smart cleaner can lift a toilet chair to wash it from the bottom. In addition, the robot uses a vacuum cleaner nozzle to clean up debris from the floor.
After the work is completed, the machine is returned to the base to replenish the supply of cleaning products and charge the batteries. If during the next tour of the premises the car notices something unusual, it will take a photo of the situation using the built-in camera and send the image to a predetermined address. Thus, administrators will be able to take action as quickly as possible to solve the problem.
Somatic provides access to its robotic platform to organizations at a cost of $1,000 per month. For this money, the car will clean the toilets in the customer's building for 40 hours a week. Thus, one hour of operation of the mechanized assistant is estimated at approximately $5.68. It is noted that the robot is not able to completely replace the maintenance personnel. It is designed primarily to automate routine tasks such as washing toilets.[1]
