In August 2023, a company with state participation "," BASS the first Russia in the operator, drones began its first commercial work on monitoring the fire hazard situation Yakutia in the GAU. The State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company emphasized that such flights outside the experimental legal regime are being carried out in Russia for the first time. Earlier - in May 2023 - "BAS" received from the Federal Air Transport Agency an operator certificate for the provision of commercial services using UAVs weighing up to 30 kg.

By mid-August 2023, the republic recorded about 50 forest fires. Basically, fires are raging on the territory of the Ust-May, Olekminsky and Aldansky districts.

Earlier in 2023, the BAS drone operator conducted "pilot" tests in the Tomponsky district of Yakutia, within the framework of which the effectiveness of the use of drones in the region for monitoring territories, including fire hazardous points, in different climatic conditions was tested and confirmed, the GTLK press service noted.

Drones monitored fire hazardous areas in the area of ​ ​ the village of Khandyga 450 km from Yakutsk.

In the future, drones will be able to expand their functionality in the region and engage in monitoring muskworm, reindeer, as well as water for pollution, say the State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.
